According to the publication, 56 senators, including 6 Republicans, think the procedure does not violate the Constitution, while 44 Republicans were against it.
The process will continue on February 10. The parties will reveal the introductory debate , with each of them having until 16 hours to do so. Trump has no plans to address the Senate, his position will be presented by lawyers. If members of the Senate find Trump guilty, he will not be able to run for office in the future. Two-thirds of the senators, or 67 votes, are required to find the former president guilty.
